Volunteering opportunities
From its inception, the Wilderspin National School has been about involving local people, and in no aspect of the organisation is this more important than our volunteers. Without them, we could not function.
We have many volunteers of varying age groups who partake in every aspect of the school’s work, from talking to school children and staffing our shop, to assisting in the office and working with our historical collections.
We are always ready to welcome new faces, and can offer a wide variety of activities to suit both your interests and your available time.
Regular social events and training sessions take place, and there are plenty of opportunities for our volunteers to try new things, meet new people and develop new skills. If you are interested, please come along to the museum for an informal chat or telephone 01652 635172.

Sponsorship and donations
It is very expensive just to keep our doors open. Our schools and out of school activities, serving children both from the local community and further afield, are greatly valued, but costly to maintain. Although charges are made for some activities, they do not cover our costs.
To bridge the gap, we rely on financial support from community-minded individuals and grant making bodies, but it is a constant struggle to make ends meet. We are in competition for the limited amounts available from donors with many other worthy organisations.
So, please consider helping us keep the Wilderspin National School open by making a donation, of any amount. Perhaps you might consider a legacy to the Trust in your will, or a regular payment to help us plan our future with greater certainty.
We are a registered charity and so can benefit from any gifts made under the Gift Aid scheme.
