More With Less

We’ve decided to mitigate the high winter energy costs by opening less but providing more!

The Museum will be open on alternate weekends only between 11am and 3pm from October until April, except for special events and school half term holidays.

As there will be family events, exhibitions, scheduled tours and talks throughout the winter to enhance visitors’ experience we are introducing a small admission charge too, from November.

School visits and group tours will carry on as normal.

Our open weekends commence on 1 & 2 October, then 15 & 16 October and continuing on the first and third weekend of each month through to April.

Our Autumn & Winter Opening Times

Opening times of The Old School Canteen coffee shop have not changed and it will continue to open Thursdays – Sundays 10am – 4pm.

Hire of our function and community rooms is not affected, and they are still available for business, community and family any time.
