Two hundred years ago, education pioneer Samuel Wilderspin began his travels across Britain promoting infant schools in the nation’s towns, villages and cities. Our celebrations begin with this exhibition about his amazing adventures and achievements, and a programme of events through to 2026.
A top-to-bottom exploration of the School building, and a family challenge to test your observational skills – also a chance to enter Barton Civic Society’s Children’s Competition 2025.

This was to have been part of our 1940s Day but due to low interest it’s had to be cancelled.
Journey back to the 1940s as we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, with a vintage fair, wartime cinema & theatre, evacuees’ classroom, tea dance, NAAFI café and more!
