The Age of Steam

Shows at 1pm, 2pm & 3pm
Come back in time with us in our Victorian lecture theatre and hear about the “latest” scientific breakthroughs. Tom Mulholland will be delivering his hand-on Victorian Science lecture with lots of amazing demonstrations and oodles of audience participation. Discover the genius of the North – its inventors, engineers and scientists who have embraced the new technologies and contributed to the industrial revolution that is changing our lives. The show includes practical demonstrations of treating aches and pains with electric shock, using air pressure to power railways, steam power to drive engines, and fanciful mechanisms to make toys work! Not for persons of a nervous disposition!
Booking highly advised – telephone (01652) 635172 to reserve your place. All seats £2
